First-of-Its-Kind Low Dose CT System

July 25th, 2011, Prince Frederick, Maryland - Radiology Imaging Associates, (RIA) has installed the first of its kind “low dose” CT scanner. The new Hitachi SCENARIA™ 64-slice CT system offers excellent image quality using the lowest x-ray dose possible. This technology provides patients both young and old with the safest scans and increased peace of mind when having this valuable diagnostic imaging procedure.  RIA at Patuxent in Prince Frederick, Maryland is the first outpatient imaging center in the United States to acquire and install the new Hitachi SCENARIA CT System.

Additional features unique to this scanner allow lateral table movement, table weight capacity of 506 pounds, and a large 75cm opening to help position patients more comfortably.   Installation will occur during the week of July 18, 2011.

This is the second major technology investment RIA has made recently in the community. In early 2011 RIA introduced their new high field strength, 1.2 Tesla Open MRI, the highest field strength Open MRI in the industry. The Hitachi Oasis 1.2 Tesla MRI that offers outstanding image quality and a more comfortable patient experience.
